Import and Export Trade of Refractories in 2020

          According to the statistics of China Refractory Industry Association, the national production of refractories in 2020 was 24,779,900 tons, with a year-on-year growth of 1.94%.The production of dense and shaped refractory products is 13.794 million tons,with a year-on-year increase of 2.20%;The production of thermal insulation refractory products was 622,100 tons,with a year-on-year increase of 5.61%. The production of monolithic refractories was 10,448,500 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 1.39%.
          In the main production areas, the production of refractory materials in Henan Province decreased by 2.92% year-on-year in 2020, and the decrease period mainly occurred in the first quarter of 2020;The annual production of Liaoning Province decreased 4.36% year-on-year,mainly due to the depressed of the market of magnesium raw materials and magnesium products from the first quarter to the third quarter of 2020，the output of refractories in other provinces is basically stable.The output of refractory products in 2020 is generally stable compared with that in 2019. In refractory production areas with more competitive enterprises are relatively less affected by the COVID-19 in 2020.
         According to statistics, the total import and export trade of refractory raw materials in 2020 was US $3.187 billion in China,  18.08% lower than the same period last year.Among them, the export trade volume was US $2.949 billion, with a year-on-year decrease of 16.32%; The import trade volume was US $238 million, with a year-on-year decrease of 34.99%. The total export of refractory raw materials in China was 5.3686 million tons, with a year-on-year decrease of 9.88%.Among them, the export volume of refractory raw materials was 3,966,500 tons, with a year-on-year decrease of 7.58%; The export volume of refractory products was 1,402,100 tons, with a year-on-year decrease of 15.82%. The export volume of fused magnesia and magnesium hydroxide was relatively stable, but the average export price decreased greatly.
        Export situation of refractory products: the export volume of basic refractory products decreased by 3.41%, and the average export price decreased by 25.03%; The export volume of alumina-silica based  refractory products decreased significantly, and the average export price increased by 20.18%, which may be caused by the change of variety structure; The export volume of other refractory products decreased by 21.38%, while the average export price increased by 8.33%.
