Two major conferences in Europe held a discussion on the new
Raw material supply in the refractory industry is now a major concern for refractory producers in Europe, as China continues to be a supply shortage as a major source of key refractory minerals.
It is clear that the two key meetings that IMFORMED was invited to attend recently were based on the latest trends and developments. One is the European Conference of Refractory Producers (PRE) in Paris from June 7th to 8th, and the other is the ninth of the Spanish Refractory Association (ANFRE) held in Oviedo from June 12th to 13th. Representative meeting of secondary refractory and related service manufacturers.
The two conferences attracted senior representatives of the European refractory industry who were eager to comment on news and choices and were committed to alleviating supply shortages and rising prices.
As a guest speaker, Mike O’Driscoll, head of IMFORMED, gave a speech on “The Year of the Dog: Is its voice worse than biting?” to comment on the latest developments in the supply of refractory minerals in China.
He explained why China's refractory mineral supply will no longer be the same. He also participated in a group discussion on raw materials held at two meetings.
As China's peak-to-peak production in the autumn and winter of October-March may become a matter of routine, O’Driscoll envisions a new trend in mineral supply and expects a high level of tension in the July-September trade.
The situation in China also gives old-fashioned miners outside China the opportunity to recover some market share, and some companies are already considering capacity expansion.
At the same time, mining project developers can push their projects forward and replace supply sources for desperate consumers.
